The traditional stringer pallet configuration comprised of top and bottom deck boards fastened to center support boards, or stringers, running the length of the pallet.
Block pallets are typically constructed with top deck boards attached to top stringer boards, and that mat assembly then attached to central support blocks. The bottom may be comprised of another mat assembly or a single layer of boards.
Skids, which can be of either stringer or block design, differ from pallets in that they have no bottom deck boards.
